How much should i pay for a CPA to file my corporate tax?

I filed for an extension for 2011 and I’m looking around for a CPA to do my Corporate Tax.
How much is a fair price?

There is no way you can get a decent quote with so little information. How many states do you need to file in? How organized are your financials?

CPA firms charge by the hour. If you take your return for last year to one, you will likely get an estimate. If this is your first year, the CPA would need to ask some questions to judge the time required.

I hope this helps.

  2. The following factors need to be considered when evaluating the cost to prepare income taxes. Do you maintain good accounting records and provide your CPA with a trial balance and supporting documents? Are your fixed asset purchases and sales less than 10 items per year? Are your total assets less than 10 Million dollars? Do you file in 1 or multiple states. My clients that provide me with a backup of their QuickBooks or other accounting software, have less than 10 asset sales or purchases, and file in only one state typically cost around $1,000. I have some clients that file in multiple states and have 30 or more asset additions and they can run anywhere up to $5,000.

  3. If it’s less than 300 you should probably go somewhere else. If it’s more than $1200 you should probably try and get things in better shape for next year.

  4. Depends on how extensive. I would say a range from $500 to $1000

  5. $250 – assuming your bookkeeping for the year is complete. CPAs normally like to see a client once a month to report it’s progress, balance the checkbook, pay payroll taxes, etc. Minimum fee is $100 per month plus $250 end of year corporate tax return. Good luck.
