How do the death tax and health care reform in this country relate to one another?

In other words, I am in support of nationalized health care and also for the abolition of the death tax. Any ideas on what we could do?
Actually it is dubbed the death tax – look it up
Also, you’re off on your percentages of taxes paid on what amount. Neither of you answered my question at all.

I think the death tax should be indexed so that it doesn’t impact anyone with less than a certain amount. Of course, that is the case now but the amount should probably something like $5 million to start and then be indexed each year.

National health care should focus on preventive strategies. Our system currently rewards people who abuse themselves with drugs, alcohol, and obesity. We should impose harsh taxes on fast foods much like government likes to tax cigarettes, booze, and strip joints. Anything unhealthy should be discouraged. Discounts on insurance should be giving to health buffs who exercise every other day and who stay within a certain calory limit. Government should encourage and reward good health practices with health credits on the Income Tax much like the earned income credit.

  1. It’s not a "death tax".
you don’t pay it when you die.

just like you pay income tax on money you earn, you pay inheritance tax on money you inherit over, i think it’s $10m this year.
in any case, there’s no tax on the first million+.

are you really expecting to inherit $20m?
    really?
well then, what’ your phone #? ;-) — just kidding.

  2. The "death tax" that you speak of is a means by which we give rich kids the opportunity to pull themsleves up by their own bootstraps.

  3. How do you expect to pay for national health care, just look at the countries who have it, Britian has been backrupted by it, Canadians near the Buffalo border come there for servcies. National healcare is national rationing, of services The expense of heatl care isn’t even inclued in Obama’ 10trillion deficit over the next ten years. National healt care is impossible with his spending spree
